Carmel™ 2 delivers the lifelike natural sound of YG Acoustics™’ flagship Sonja™ and Hailey™, at a price that is within reach for many of us who - until now - could only dream of owning a speaker of such ultra-high-end caliber. Carmel™ 2 is the culmination of years of research, and a near-obsessive desire by YG Acoustics™' lead-designer Yoav Geva, who insisted that his inevitable responsibility was to extend the leading-edge technologies of Sonja™ and Hailey™, to Carmel™ 2. The result is astonishing - world-class performance in a gorgeous marvel of industrial design and precision-manufacturing. Carmel™ 2 - spectacular sonics, timelessly elegant form, pure clarity... handmade in U.S.A.
Carmel™ 2 uses a fully CNC-machined construction and proprietary toroidal air-core crossover inductors. The revolutionary drivers, machined in-house for Sonja™ and Hailey™, make an encore appearance in Carmel™ 2. These enhancements result in ultra-low distortion, while preserving the industry-leading frequency and phase response that YG Acoustics™ is famous for.
The mid-woofer is made in-house using YG Acoustics™’ proprietary BilletCore™ technology: the driver is precisely machined out of a massive slab of aircraft-grade aluminum. This unique process offers overwhelmingly superior dynamics, musical delicacy and low distortion due to industry-leading rigidity and accuracy (tight tolerances).
The tweeter incorporates YG Acoustics™’ ingenious ForgeCore™ system: in-house CNC-cutting introduces sophisticated 3D geometries into the motor system. The resulting improvement is greatly reduced distortion and a sense of ease to the sound.
YG Acoustics™ crossover circuits are all created using proprietary software developed entirely in-house. DualCoherent™ technology provides the best frequency response and relative phase available. Competing speakers are optimized in either the frequency domain (most common) or time domain. Only YG Acoustics™ has the ability to optimize both domains simultaneously.
Carmel™ 2’s crossover uses ToroAir™ technology: in-house CNC-wound toroidal air-core inductors are unique in eliminating cross-talk (cross-contamination) common in crossover circuits. The result is preservation of high-frequency detail without harshness, brightness or sibilance.
Carmel™ 2’s exquisite cabinet combines visual refinement with over-engineering. It is constructed of precision-machined aircraft-grade aluminum alloy. This material, using vibration-free pressurized assembly, allows for the most acoustically desirable enclosures achievable. The plate-thickness is up to 35 mm (1.375"). This ensures freedom from vibration, even at impressive volume levels for a speaker of this size.
FocusedElimination™ anti-resonance technology keeps mechanical losses lower than any competing speaker, by combining the minimized turbulence of a sealed design with the low friction otherwise associated with enclosure-free concepts.
YG Acoustics™ speakers are not voiced. All measurements are verified using extensive listening tests, but the speakers are not artificially manipulated. YG Acoustics™ speakers simply convey the recording – nothing more, nothing less.
The end-result: Carmel™ 2 is a champion of transparency, 3D-soundstaging, dynamics, inner-detail, and the natural sound of a live performance that YG Acoustics™ is famous for. This is all presented in a refined, elegant speaker with an exquisite fit-and-finish that is the showpiece of the world’s finest listening environments.
Carmel™ 2, in addition to its state-of-the-art two-channel (stereo) performance, is also fully compatible with multichannel audio and home-theater systems. Carmel™ 2 can also be combined with speakers from YG Acoustics™’ other lines for properly phase-coherent multi-channel systems.

Pewnie więcej blasku miałyby w jakimś nowoczesnym wnętrzu z licznymi gładkimi powierzchniami i mnóstwem odbić. Ale może wtedy byłoby już za ostro? Trudno powiedzieć. Teraz trochę o wadach. Jest to dosyć chłodny, taki "beznamiętny" dźwięk. Łącząc go z tranzystorowym wzmacniaczem o takich samych cechach najprawdopodobniej otrzymamy brzmienie sterylne, analityczne, ale całkiem wyprane z emocji.
Myśmy zaczęli od Alepha X. On niestety preferuje 8 omowe obciążenie i wyraźnie brakowało mu mocy.

Carmel™ 2 appears on the front cover of the October 2015 issue of Hi-Fi+.
Inside is a fantastic article by Chris Martens, which can also be found on the magazine's website.
The reviewer concludes: "…Carmel 2 demonstrates truly astonishing power handling capabilities and vibrant, full-bodied dynamics. It also belies its modest size by serving up surprisingly deep, powerful, and extended bass.” “This also holds true when playing pipe organ material rich in low-frequency content, which the Carmel 2 happily reproduces with powerful and shuddering depth tempered by an excellent measure of control.” "This compact and exquisitely made floorstander...offers transparency, detail, neutrality of voicing, and overall refinement... The Carmel 2 is without a doubt an unqualified design triumph."
ΉXOΣ magazine (Greece) has published a spectacular review of YG Acoustics™ Carmel™ 2. The article can be downloaded here.
The speaker received 5 stars, which is the publication's highest rating. The detailed evaluation concluded with a score of 4.94 out of 5, which is apparently among the highest numbers ever doled out by the publication.
This article is YG Acoustics™' first review in the Greek media, and we are proud to enter this new market on such a high note.
Carmel™ 2 appears on the front cover of the August-September 2015 issue of Canada HiFi.
Inside is an excellent review, which can also be found online here.
The writer gave YG Acoustics™ the highest honor, by purchasing the review pair for his own reference system.
A sample comment from the article: “I tried Bach’s Passacaglia and Fugue to see how well the Carmel would fare on deep organ notes, and I could not have wanted for more. The whole room was energized.”
Enjoy the Music has published an excellent review of Carmel™ 2. The article can be found here.
Reviewer Phil Gold concluded the test by stating "I just have to keep this pair", and purchased the speakers.
Mr. Gold is one of eleven reviewers worldwide who have purchased YG Acoustics™ speakers for their reference systems, a number that we are very proud of.
Additional comments by Mr. Gold: "I love how YG Acoustics have managed to keep the wonderful qualities of the Carmel but add so much to the lower frequency articulation, the midrange clarity, the openness of the upper frequencies and the overall level of realism."
"I found myself completely unable to play short excerpts, the sound so captivating I simply had to play it through to the end. One moment passionate, the next haunting and then almost frightening, this is an amazing test of a system's ability to reproduce instrumental color and the most intricate detail." “Serious weight, presence, impact, clarity. Even in the deep bass and all the way up to the top registers” “…lower frequency articulation, the midrange clarity, the openness of the upper frequencies and the overall level of realism …I just have to keep this pair.”
